£300,000 refurbishment works begin at St Albans pub

Local St Albans pub, The Crown, will reopen after a £300,000 refurbishment and refit in time for the August bank holiday weekend.

All Our Bars, in partnership with Spirit Pub Group, plan to completely redecorate and refurnish the pub, extend and re-landscape the beer garden and upgrade the kitchen.

There will also be a more formal dining area which can be booked for private functions and meetings.

The Crown will serve a wide selection of fine wines, ciders, cask ales, craft beers and an extensive range of rare premium spirits, and the food will be locally sourced and seasonal. Traditional Sunday roasts will be served on Sundays from 12 noon to 6pm.

The pub will also open at 9am for coffee mornings with a selection of fresh cakes and pastries on offer.

Paul Wigham said: “Work has already started and we are really excited about what we are doing. The designers have come up with some fantastic ideas that will really show what a beautiful building this is.”
